Our B&B combines an antique home built for Aunt Sukie in 1830 by her brother with a contemporary addition completed in 1993. Our grounds are filled with flowers, brick walkways, trees and green lawns. A large deck overlooks the water for leisurely viewing of Wellfleet Bay and the many sailboats and windsurfers. The beach in front of the house is private for our guests. There is swimming at high tide, exploring the "mudflats" at low tide, sunbathing, walking and jogging, or collecting sea shells any time. The water is clear, calm and warm enough for swimming.
Blue Gateways, located in the heart of Wellfleet, is a beautifully restored house built c. 1712 and listed on the National Register of Historic Houses. Blue Gateways has been known for fine lodging since the 1940's. Its resident innkeepers are Richard and Bonnie Robicheau. There are three guest rooms located on the second floor, each with a private bath and furnished with family antiques. Next to the bedrooms is a common area with game table and butler's pantry complete with microwave and refrigerator. Downstairs is a sunny all-seasons porch where continental breakfast is served featuring Bonnie's homemade granola, baked goodies and much more. There are built-in couches on the sun porch perfect for relaxing, reading, or watching the busy bird feeders. The sun porch is also equipped with cable TV and a VCR. On warm sunny days the backyard is wonderful for lounging, lunching, or relaxing by the ornamental goldfish pond.
A two minute walk to the water. Three-quarter mile stroll to the nearest Harbor beach. This large sunny room with private deck and entrance has a sitting/dining area, king size bed, and your own bath. Relax in this secluded spot and take in the peaceful wooded views while you enjoy our varied continental-style breakfast. We are located 17 miles from Provincetown airport and wharf, in the heart of the Outer Cape. Beaches, Boating, Biking. A lovely vacation spot
The Holden Inn is an old New England Inn that has been hosting guests for over 75 years. We are located on Cape Cod in the picturesque village of Wellfleet. The village, with many art galleries and unique shops, is a short walk from the inn. Wellfleet Harbor is also close by, a perfect destination for guests who enjoy fishing and boating. The beautiful beaches of the Cape Cod National Seashore, fresh water ponds, tennis courts, bike trails and golf courses are all within a few miles of the inn.
Our Victorian sea captain’s home was built in 1871 by Captain Freeman Atkins Snow (born Nov. 7, 1838) for less than $4,000.00. Captain Snow put to sea at the age of 10, as did eight of his nine brothers, and became a captain ("Master") in 1862. Upon his retirement from this exciting but dangerous life, "Captain Free" as he was known to his friends, became an agent for the Commercial Wharf Company, married, built the house and flew signal flags for the U.S. Weather Bureau in his front yard. A private residence for over a hundred years, the house has been operated as a Bed & Breakfast since the late 1980's.
