The Island House is located in the Main Street Historic District of East Orleans, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We are less than 2 miles from renowned Nauset Beach which runs for miles along the Atlantic side of Cape Cod's outer arm.

The town of Orleans is centrally located on the Cape's elbow, halfway between Provincetown and Hyannis. Orleans is also only 15 minutes from Chatham or Wellfleet, two of the Cape's most quaint villages.

Breakfasts are truly our specialty here at the Island House. Your hosts, David and Heather, are both talented chefs with over 25 years of experience between them. Every morning you choose from a diverse menu featuring a variety of local specialties, and all breakfasts include coffee, juice, and a basket of freshly baked goodies.

Academy Place Bed & Breakfast™ is a 1790s home where you can relax in a historic sea captain's house.

Located on the village green, Orleans' shopping district -- with its many fine shops and restaurants -- is just a short walk away. Nauset Beach (Atlantic Ocean) and Skaket Beach (Cape Cod Bay) have abundant swimming and fishing opportunities and are a 5-minute drive from the house, while the bike trail is 3 blocks away. The Cape Cod Seashore National Park visitors' center is 10 minutes by car.

A fine Country Inn offering the best in Danish hospitality in a truly unique part of the world - Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA.

The Overlook was built by in 1871 for Mrs. Sarah Hatch Chipman. Given the recent death of her husband, Captain Barnabus Mayo Chipman and the growth of her family, Mrs. Chipman built this splendid example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture as a second property and as her new principal residence.

Each of The Inn's distinct bedrooms feature private baths (some with claw foot tubs), queen size brass beds and down comforters. Fireplaces, wraparound porches, wicker, lace, fine artworks and abundance of good books abound.
